Theatre. It's more than just a beautiful art form. It's a realm where stories come alive, where emotions overflow, and where magic is woven into every interaction. For me, theatre is a sanctuary, a place of solace and inspiration that has profoundly shaped who I am today.
"My first time on stage, was ballet 1988 in the lead role as a "Carolina Girl" at Hunters Dance School which moved me to Elementary school, singing in the chorus of "Little Red Ridinghood". Travelling with my High School Chorus on stages in various competitions, under the lights, performing passion and technique in the midst of fear.
Today, I have made it with Vision Community Theater Group Inc. as Gladys Knight of "Motown 2022" and Effie White of "Dreamgirls". Theatre has truly connected me to self as well as the many other whom
I've grown to love and adore.

Throughout my journey as a lover of theatre, I have discovered that it is not limited to the scripted lines or the elaborate costumes. Theatre is a catalyst for connection - both within ourselves and with others. It teaches us empathy, understanding, and the beauty of vulnerability. It unites a community of individuals, bound by a shared passion, bringing us together in a beautiful tapestry of diverse perspectives and experiences.
In this blog, we will delve into the intricacies of what theatre means to me and explore the deep connections it fosters in our lives. We'll connect with talented artists, actors, directors, and enthusiasts who breathe life into the stories we cherish. Welcome to "Theatre Connections," where the spotlight is always shining on the beauty of the stage.
The Golden Pony was my first time on stage. I was in kindergarten and in the lead role. I loved the feeling of being in front of a live audience and hearing my mom cheering “that’s my baby”. Theater has given me the opportunity to explore my creative side, a space for me to imagine and create. It allows me to escape reality for a few hours and immerse myself in a story, where I can laugh, cry, and experience the full spectrum of human emotions. Theater has also introduced me to some of my closest companionships. Those formed through theater have been some of the most meaningful in my life. Shared experiences during rehearsals, stressful yet rewarding performances, and the passionate discussions about theater have created a sense of camaraderie and connection that is truly special. We have become our own family.
Theater has impacted my life through self-discovery and personal growth. The process of embodying different characters and perspectives has pushed me out of my comfort zone, allowing me to understand my own emotions and perspectives.
Theater is an important part of my life, and I am thankful for the opportunities it has given me. I have been able to find a passion for the stage and I am forever grateful.

My first experience with musical theater was in college. My most recent performances were “Titanic” where I played a first class passenger who died and
“Dreamgirls” where I played Michelle.
To me, theater means having the opportunity to be yourself while exploring different aspects of yourself. Having this opportunity to express these different sides is very therapeutic.
